Author: Imām Ibn Abdul-al-Hādī (744 H)
Al-Muḥarrar fī al-Ḥadīth is an important classical collection of Prophetic narrations compiled by the distinguished scholar and hadith authority Imām Ibn Abdul-Hādī , one of the prominent scholars of Damascus and a student of Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah.
In this work, the author gathered a large number of authentic hadiths related to Islamic legal rulings and arranged them according to the chapters of Islamic jurisprudence. The book covers many essential subjects of Islamic practice, including purification, prayer, zakāh, fasting, pilgrimage, transactions, marriage, and other legal matters.
The strength of this work lies in the author’s careful selection of narrations from the major hadith collections and his scholarly precision in organizing them for students of knowledge. Because of this, the book became a valuable reference for scholars and students studying Hadith and Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh).
Al-Muḥarrar is regarded as one of the notable compilations of hadiths of legal rulings, studied by students of knowledge alongside other well-known works in this field. It reflects the deep expertise of its author in hadith scholarship and his adherence to the methodology of the early scholars (the Salaf).
