Author: Al-Imām al-Ājurrī (360 H)
Kitāb ash-Sharīʿah by Imām al-Ājurrī is one of the foundational works of the Salaf in ʿaqīdah. Written in the 4th century Hijri, it sets out the creed of Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jamāʿah using the Qur'ān, the Sunnah, and the narrations of the Companions and those who followed them.
Imām al-Ājurrī, who lived in Baghdad and later settled in Makkah, wrote it to call people to holding firm to the Sunnah and the jamāʿah and to warn against the sects of his time. He refutes the Khawārij, the Qadariyyah, and the Jahmiyyah. He affirms that the Qur'ān is the uncreated Speech of Allāh, that the believers will see their Lord, and he upholds the Attributes of Allāh without distortion or denial. The book also covers the virtues of the Companions and the Ahl al-Bayt.
